I've finally have some time to give you an update on the mentoring, after the last weeks I've mostly been busy with the conference and the following trainings week.

During October I've sketched out the idea of a mentoring program run by Meeting C++. I've given 1:1 mentoring sessions in the past and always enjoyed this, so it feels like a good idea to offer some of my time to explore Modern C++ with you and all the folks that are on the Meeting C++ network naturally interested in this.

Since October...

After doing the initial work on the launch of the program, there was no time to go further into this. I've also seen when comparing the traffic to the two ticketshops for mentoring and training, that the trainings gather the bigger audience. Though the trainings have also been more promoted, and do need that level of interest. While the mentoring program favors finding the few folks that are interested in kicking this off. Which I'm now in contact with.

Shaping the mentoring programm for 2025

My goal for December is to discuss with those interested in being part of the program. I'd like to know what your goals for the mentoring are, and where you are in your C++ learning journey. The program will then take its shape from that, as my initial thoughts are of course what I can offer in which time frame and at which price. It makes sense to pool my 1:1 mentees into a group to generally also discuss and present of what we've learned in the 1:1 sessions. If you are interested, either register as an interested person in the december ticket shop for the mentoring or contact me directly. Maybe we've exchanged emails in the past or you contact me via LinkedIn.

My own goals

Other than the mentoring, one thing I'm currently exploring is if Thread Pool Elements, a talk which is derived from a lightning talk would also be a good starting point for a half or full day training/workshop. Which is another direction I'm exploring for 2025. As the trainings week was a success, Meeting C++ will offer more trainings in 2025.
